So in my dream tour of America which would never happen

I’d just go around to places and eat burgers

Where the hell is the Nashville? :T

    Nashville’s in Tennesee lol

    Where’s Milwaukee?

    In Wisconsin, duh. Gosh.

Why isn’t there a Detroit burger either? :( What, is supplying more than half of the cars driven by Americans not good enough to warrant us a burger? ;P

“Protect what matters with everything you have. Or you’ll have nothing. And deserve it.”

is it any wonder donnic is speechless when he sees her that night in lowtown? it’s not that she’s a work of art; it’s not that she’s any lovelier or any plainer than anyone else. it’s the set of her jaw and the strength of her convictions—and she is beautiful, brave, bold and tart. perhaps she’s more the sort to knock a man off his feet with an actual blow to his breastplate, but i love that donnic’s the one who falls, that aveline’s the one who helps him up. that a woman with a profile like this could still have reason to pause, that it doesn’t mean she forges ahead less or that she isn’t ever and always strong. they’re none of them perfect, and sometimes they’re wrong, but as a sister, as a friend, as a woman, aveline is never anyone other than herself. (and is it any wonder isabela likes her so much?)

Oh, I love this description so much.

    impressioniste:

Technically, the Grey Wardens are supposed to be above everyone else’s authority, especially in times of Blight.

However, we see in Awakening and in the interim between Awakening and Dragon Age II that even the Chantry can lean on the Wardens pretty hard to get what they want, including things like having apostates/mages turned over to them, or getting templars instated in the Wardens to ‘keep watch’.

I was talking with sakuratsukikage about it, and some other relevant points came up.

sakuratsukikage: mostly it kind of shows that the Chantry can lean on anyone pretty hard :/
impressioniste: Don’t forget, Wardens need lyrium, too. For the Joining.
impressioniste: if the Chantry cuts the Wardens off, they can’t get more recruits
    impressioniste: The Chantry owns everybody.
sakuratsukikage: Wow, I HAD forgotten that
    impressioniste: Because of Lyrium.
impressioniste: The Wardens are able to negotiate, because they fight the Blights. But ultimately they’re fucked if the Chantry wanted to screw them.
impressioniste: They’re the only ones with any kind of leverage against the Chantry, because of that. But it could really end up deadlocked.
impressioniste: ‘Well, we won’t fight your blights’
impressioniste: ‘Well, we won’t give you lyrium’
    impressioniste: ad nauseum
impressioniste: If the Wardens don’t fight the blights, then everyone is fucked.
sakuratsukikage: So yeah, they could end up in a nasty standoff.

A bit more below, cut for Silent Grove spoilers.

Ooooh, I think I see a plot bunny here!

A blight is on the horizon and the Warden forces that rebuilt after the fifth blight and the Chantry are at a stalemate. Thedas is thrown into a state of upheaval and a few Wardens take the Blight into their own hands. Hmm? Hmmmmmm? No? Maybe. XD

I made a headcanon that I may or may not submit to the DA headcanon blog. And yes this is an actual undoctored screenshot from my game. I found a mod that turned Fen’s eyes blue and it immediately became headcanon.
I mean it just makes so much sense.

Mm, I don’t know. I like the idea but it doesn’t make much sense to me. Fenris glows blue because of the lyrium markings branded into his flesh, so theoretically they’d have had to brand lyrium into his irises, which seems rather impossible to me. I can understand them glowing blue when his lyrium is activated (do they? o.O), but maybe not being blue all the time. If it’s a pigmentation thing (i.e. the hair losing its color) then his eyes should have turned pink — but even that wouldn’t make sense to me since his skin still very clearly has pigmentation, and even his eyebrows are still dark. In my head, I always assumed his hair went white due to the trauma of receiving the lyrium brandings. I guess Fenris is just a mystery all around, huh? :P
